Cerrone (32-7 MMA, 19-4 UFC) is set to face off with Jorge Masvidal (31-11 MMA, 8-4 UFC) at UFC on FOX 23, which takes place Jan. 28 at Pepsi Center in Denver. The main card airs on FOX, though the bout order has not been finalized.

Cerrone, No. 13 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA welterweight rankings, scored a headkick knockout of Matt Brown at this past Saturday’s UFC 206 event. He compiled a 4-0 record in 2016 and has an 11-1 record since 2014.
Masvidal defeated Jake Ellenberger at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale. The ending of the fight was unusual, however, because Masvidal – who was clearly winning the fight – picked up the TKO when Ellenberger’s toe became stuck in the cage. Masvidal teed off as Ellenberger tried to get free.
Masvidal is riding a two-fight winning streak. All of his three most recent losses came by split decision.
With the addition to the card, UFC on FOX 23 now includes:
