Fuel TV "UFC Ultimate Insider's" video description: "An extraordinary true story about a warrior in the Octagon and selfless soldier in the battlefield. UFC Middleweight & U.S. Marine Brian Stann walks us through every harrowing detail of the mission for which he was awarded the Silver Star. Stann also outlines his return to the Octagon after his battle in the middle east; and how he is helping fellow soldiers return back home to the United States."

On this special, candid video, former WEC Light Heavyweight Champion, Brian Stann said, "I probably aged 15 years in my three years of fighting a war for this country…marines are not going to back down from a fight." Two tours to Iraq, over 1,000 days in service.

Corporal Robert Gass, who served with Brian and survived Operation Matador shares his version of the story. Listening to the two men relive their experience gave me chills. The reality of the the decision-making and the consequences of their choices underscore the bravery and courage of these two men—and the other members of the armed forces.

Brian ended active duty in the US Marine Corps as a Captain in May of 2008. He was awarded the Silver Star medal in March of 2006 for his actions and bravery in combat during Operation Matador in Iraq. All 42 of his men made it home. source

Stann vs Sakara: UFC on Fuel 2

What does a military man steeped in discipline, courage and honor do next? Become an MMA fighter, of course. Brian Stann highlight video

Brian faces Alessio Sakara in his next fight which takes place in Sweden on April 14th at "UFC on Fuel TV Gustaffson vs Silva". In this video interview from ProMMANow, Brian spoke about his upcoming match with Sakara and his commentating gig with Fuel TV. video

Brian Stann on his match with Sakara: "I'm looking to finish. I go in to every fight thinking that, I just don't like going to the judges, you really put yourself at risk. Looking at his skill set, I mean, he's a very good striker, very technical, fast guy for 185. He's really starting to add some more knees and kicks into his game from his boxing skills early in his career. And he's got great jiu-jitsu as well and great takedown defense—an all-around great fighter. He's been in the UFC a lot longer than me, so I'm honored to fight him and I think it's going to be a really good exciting fight."

I watched Brian Stann doing commentary after the first UFC on Fuel with Jay Glazer. He was really good. I enjoyed his rapid fire delivery and his analysis of the fights. Brian is an excellent addition to the crop of MMA fighters turned MMA Analysts.
