A featherweight matchup is heading to Pittsburgh, as Dennis Bermudez (14-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) meets Tatsuya Kawajiri (35-8-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC).
UFC officials recently announced the matchup.
Featuring a welterweight headliner between recent lightweight title challenger Donald Cerrone and fellow New Mexico resident Tim Means, UFC Fight Night 82 takes place Feb. 21 at Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center. While the official bout order has yet to be released, the night’s main card airs on FOX Sports 1.
A former finalist on “The Ultimate Fighter 14,” Bermudez built a six-fight winning streak after losing on the show’s live finale. However, he’s currently mired in a two-fight losing skid after dropping fights to Jeremy Stephens and Ricardo Lamas.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old Kawajiri has been fighting professionally since 2000, though he just made his way to the UFC in 2014. He’s since won three of four fights, with the lone loss coming in a “Fight of the Night” with Clay Guida. Kawajiri is 8-1 overall in his past nine appearances.
