It may be three months before UFC 200 arrives on July 9, but featherweight champion Conor McGregor has already begun training for his rematch against Nate Diaz.
McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, posted a photo on Instagram on Wednesday showing “The Notorious” on a stationary bike with a training mask on. The photo’s caption read, “The road to #ufc200 starts today…3yrs to the day from debut.”
On this day, April 6, three years ago, McGregor made his UFC debut, defeating Marcus Brimage by TKO in Sweden. He, of course, suffered his first UFC loss in his last outing, losing to Diaz by submission.
According to UFC president Dana White, McGregor has been “obsessed” with avenging the loss.
