Conor McGregor suddenly tweeted that he had "decided to retire young" on Tuesday, and unsurprisingly, it whipped the combat sports world into a frenzy. While fans and pundits were wondering aloud whether it was true, foes from McGregor's past all opened up on his (possible) departure from MMA.
His most recent (and, it seemed, next) opponent, Nate Diaz, jokingly offered the following:
I guess my work here is done I'm retiring too????????

His archenemy to this point, Jose Aldo, did not pretend that the retirement tweet had affected his long-standing animosity. He would later delete the tweet, but naturally, it was immortalized not long after he posted it:

Rafael dos Anjos, who pulled out of a fight with McGregor at UFC 196, continued goading him:
Mcgregor said his not running away from the adversity and announce retirement, can someone explain me that? #frouxo

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone said he wasn't buying into the McGregor retirement talk:
I sought it. Just another stunt to get people to talk about his bitch ass https://t.co/U9Tww5KPh4

As the day goes on, we can only expect more people to toss up their thoughts on social media. Hopefully, we'll find out whether or not McGregor is serious before too long.
