Canadian welterweight standout Ryan Ford has found a new fighting home. Multiple MMAWeekly.com sources on Tuesday said that Ford has signed a contract with Bellator Fighting Championships.
A veteran of both Maximum Fighting Championships and The Fight Club, the 29-year-old Ford has fought his entire professional career on his home turf in Canada, mounting a 16-3 record.
He is currently on an 8-1 stretch that includes victories over the likes of UFC veterans Pete Spratt and Karo Parisyan.
It was unclear at the time of publication when and where Ford might make his Bellator debut. There is a welterweight tournament set for Season 5, but the field has already been announced, likely leaving Ford to compete in a feature fight this fall.
