Cain Carrizosa vs. Chris Wade opener is late addition to UFC 177 card

UFC 177, a fight card ravaged by injuries, has a new bout with a pair of UFC newcomers, who will kick off the event.

UFC officials announced on Monday that lightweights Cain Carrizosa (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Chris Wade (7-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) have signed with the organization and been booked for the show.

UFC 177 takes place Aug. 30 at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento. The event’s main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Carrizosa vs. Wade is the lone fight on UFC Fight Pass.

Carrizosa, an undefeated three-year pro, makes his UFC debut after competing for organizations such as Bellator MMA and Tachi Palace fights. Most recently, the Californian earned a 30-second knockout of Chris Quitiquit (5-4) at TPF 18 on Feb. 6.

He takes on Wade, a longtime Ring of Combat fighter who suffered his lone career loss, to Ozzy Dugulubgov, at WSOF 2. However, he’s rebounded from that March 2013 defeat with a pair of ROC wins over Pat DeFranco (4-3) and Frankie Perez (8-1).
