Brock Lesnar Comments on Potential Return to UFC

Brock Lesnar Comments on Potential Return to UFC

WWE superstar Brock Lesnar acknowledged the possibility of one day returning to the UFC to resume his MMA career.

"There will be a day, maybe, that they might see me back in the Octagon," Lesnar told TMZ Sports in an interview.

Lesnar's future with the UFC is in question, however, because he twice tested positive for banned substances in June and July of this year. The June results came from an out-of-competition test, while in July he came up positive for a banned substance on fight night before his bout against Mark Hunt.

"Lesnar's case is still pending with both USADA and the Nevada Athletic Commission, which has jurisdiction over his fight with Hunt," Ken Pishna of MMA Weekly reported.

Lesnar could still be facing a lengthy ban from the sport, pending the results of that case. It makes the possibility of his return to the Octagon anytime soon an uncertainty.

Lesnar is 6-3 (5-3 in the UFC) in his professional MMA career, which included a stint as the UFC heavyweight champion and victories over Randy Couture, Frank Mir and Shane Carwin.

Given his status as a WWE superstar as well, he's a major draw for the UFC when he appears in the Octagon. His bout against Hunt was the co-main event at UFC 200 after the scheduled fights between Conor McGregor-Nate Diaz and Jon Jones-Daniel Cormier were cancelled.
