Bellator officials announced the bout’s cancellation Wednesday, revealing that Prindle was forced to withdraw after suffering an undisclosed injury. Bellator 93 takes place Thursday at Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine, and is headlined by the Season 7 lightweight tournament final between Dave Jansen and Marcin Held. The evening’s main card airs live on Spike TV.
After beginning his career with seven wins in his first eight bouts, Prindle has gone 0-2 with one no-contest in his last three fights. Following a failed title bid against former champion Cole Konrad, “The American Soldier” was disqualified in his most recent outing after landing a low blow on Thiago Santos, who had previously done the same to Prindle in the Season 5 tournament finals in 2011.
Rogers has gone just 2-5 with one no-contest in his last eight bouts after starting his career with 10 straight wins. Like Prindle, “Da Grim” was last seen competing this past October in the Season 7 tournament quarterfinals, where the Minnesotan suffered a broken arm en route to a thorough outpointing at the hands of future heavyweight champion Alexander Volkov.
