Bellator 79 on Friday night provided for some exciting finishes on MTV2, and that equated to the promotion’s highest TV ratings of the season.
Bellator 79, according to MMAWeekly.com industry sources, pulled in 220,000 viewers. That marks the first time during Season 7 that the promotion has crested the 200,000 mark. The previous high point of the season was Bellator 74, which kicked off Season 7, at 190,000 viewers.
Friday night’s broadcast emanated from Casino Rama in Rama, Ontairo, Canada. The Bellator 79 fight card featured Richard Hale making his way into the heavyweight tournament finals, while Shahbulat Shamhalaev did the same in the featherweight division. Douglas Lima and Ryan Ford both dominated in feature fights.
