The California State Athletic Commission disclosed the card’s payroll information to Sherdog.com ahead of Friday’s event at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif.
Featherweight champion “Pitbull” pocketed $70,000 for his fourth round submission victory over Straus, who took home $30,000 in defeat. After three closely-contested frames, Freire made his opponent tap to a rear-naked choke 4:49 into the fourth stanza.
Other notable potential salaries on the card included Georgi Karakhanyan, who garnered $30,000 for his first-round technical submission triumph against Bubba Jenkins ($15,000) in the evening's co-main event. Additionally, Virgil Zwicker earned $16,000 for his split-decision victory over former UFC fighter Houston Alexander ($10,000).
