Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced Friday that the former heavyweight champion will collide with Brendan Schaub when the Las Vegas-based promotion returns to Vancouver, British Columbia for UFC 174.
The event takes place June 14 and airs live on pay-per-view, headlined by a flyweight title matchup pitting reigning champion Demetrious Johnson against hard-hitting Dagestani challenger Ali Bagautinov.
A 32-fight pro, Arlovski has gone 6-1 with one no-contest in his last eight fights. “The Pit Bull” posted a 2-1 during his time with the World Series of Fighting and last competed on Nov. 29, when he dispatched Andreas Kraniotakes with second-round strikes in his home country of Belarus.
Four years younger than his veteran opponent, Schaub, 31, halted a two-fight skid with back-to-back victories in his last two appearances, outpointing Lavar Johnson before submitting former “Ultimate Fighter 10” cast mate Matt Mitrione with a brabo choke last September at UFC 165.
