Eleven fights are now scheduled for the event, which will be headlined by a welterweight scrap between one-time Purdue University wrestler Jon Fitch and former two-division champion B.J. Penn on Feb. 27 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
Hailing from nearby New Zealand, Hunt is a former K-1 kickboxer who began his mixed martial arts career in 2004, when he was submitted by Hidehiko Yoshida at Pride Critical Countdown 2004. “The Super Samoan” proceeded to win his next five bouts, notching victories against the likes of Wanderlei Silva, Tsuyoshi Kohsaka and Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic. Currently training with American Top Team, Hunt has fallen on hard times in the last four years, losing six consecutive fights. Most recently, the 36-year-old fell victim to a Sean McCorkle armlock in his promotional debut at UFC 119 in September.
Tuchscherer (Pictured) was last seen in the cage at UFC 116 in July, when he was knocked out by up-and-comer Brendan Schaub only 67 seconds into the first round. The 35-year-old is 1-2 since joining the UFC. Prior to his bout with Schaub, “The Crowbar” was knocked out by former title contender Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 102. Tuchscherer rebounded, however, earning a majority decision over Canadian Tim Hague in his sophomore effort with the promotion at UFC 109.
