November 12, 2011 - Astrakhan was the host city for M-1 Challenge 28 event. In the main event of the evening Alexander Emelianenko came back to the ring after almost one-year layoff caused by the multiple reasons. Thef fight was organized within short timeframes, so finding the opponent for AE was not an easy task. Most of the fighters refused to fight with such strong opponent on a very short notice.
Eventually, heavyweight Magomed Malikov from Gorets team agreed to fight on eight-day short notice. Malikov was the regional champion in hand-to-hand combat and winner of the Caspian cup in hand-to-hand combat, his pro record in MMA was 6-1.
The fight itself caused very hot discussions in the world of MMA, many fans still remember this fight and keep on arguing about the outcome.
