World Series of Fighting signs Brian Foster, Benny Madrid, Bryson Hansen

brian-foster-6.jpgWorld Series of Fighting has bolstered its roster with the signing of three new fighters.

Welterweight Brian Foster (19-6), lightweight Benny Madrid (7-1) and bantamweight Bryson Hansen (6-1) all have inked deals with the Las Vegas-based promotion, sources close to the organization on Friday told MMAjunkie. All three are expected to debut with WSOF in 2014.

Foster is a five-fight UFC veteran who went 3-2 with the promotion. But prior to a fight at UFC 129 against Sean Pierson, a pre-fight physical showed a brain hemorrhage. However, he was later cleared for competition and then started his road back to fighting. But a groin strike in training left him sidelined once more, and he moved on outside of the UFC – despite two straight wins for the promotion, including a second-round stoppage of current surging welterweight Matt Brown.

Foster has won five of his past six fights, with just a January submission loss to fellow UFC vet Daniel Roberts keeping him from being perfect for nearly four years. His UFC losses came at the hands of Rick Story and Chris Lytle.

Madrid, whose rough upbringing and WSOF signing was reported on by MMAjunkie this past week, suffered the first loss of his pro career in September with a loss to Victor Meza for King of the Cage. Before that, he had a perfect 7-0 start to his career with six stoppages.

Hansen, from Hawaii, got back in the win column in May with a first-round TKO in Mexico. That was his first fight since September 2010, a first-round submission loss that snapped his perfect 5-0 start to his pro career.

Opponents and promotional debuts are still to be determined for all three fighters.
