He left with an extra $50,000 for “Fight of the Night,” but it was Raphael Assuncao who had his hand raised at UFC Fight Night 29. The split-decision call was a questionable one, as many in the media scored the fight for Dillashaw.
The loss sapped the momentum of a four-fight winning streak that came after his setback to John Dodson in the “TUF 14? final.
But now, with Team Alpha Male teammate Urijah Faber set to fight for the UFC’s bantamweight title, Dillashaw would like nothing more than to start another streak.
On Wednesday, he’ll look to do just that against Mike Easton on the main card of UFC Fight Night 35, which takes place at Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga. The main card airs on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on that channel and UFC Fight Pass.
Prior to the loss to Assuncao in his four-fight run, Dillashaw had three straight stoppages. The first of those came with a submission of Vaughan Lee.
Check out that submission win above. Then don’t miss UFC Fight Night 35 next week on FOX Sports 1.
