Video: UFC champ Daniel Cormier gets stitched up – and laughed at – after title win

Being a UFC champion isn’t easy, especially when you’ve got a friend and teammate making fun of you.

Following a taxing, hard-fought and bloody title defense over challenger Alexander Gustafsson (16-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) in Saturday’s UFC 192 pay-per-view headliner, light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier (17-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) got some facial stitches – while American Kickboxing Academy teammate Luke Rockhold filmed it and tried to hold back some laughter.

While getting a shot before the stitches around his right eye, Cormier let out some groans, which elicits some muffled laughs from cameraman Rockhold.

As the UFC middleweight contender wrote with the Instagram post, they’re typical “#ChampProblems.”

Luckily for Cormier, despite the grueling five-round split-decision win, he was in good spirits after the fight, which took place at Houston’s Toyota Center:
