Video: This tumbling and tuxedoed MMA fighter is no Anthony Pettis

UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and his special brand of off-the-cage striking will likely be on display at Saturday’s UFC 181 event. It’ll basically look nothing like this amateur MMA fight.

There’s a reason the clip, which apparently comes from a weekend Warrior Camp event in Washington., concludes with one cageside observer openly pondering, “Are you kidding me?”

The off-the-cage punch from the heavyweight (the one wearing the tuxedo T-shirt) doesn’t exactly go as planned. Although he successfully propels himself off the cage wall, gravity seems to take over and immediately plants him on the canvas.

Check out the brief clip above.

On the bright side, despite the unsuccessful move, the fighter reportedly went on to win the bout. So perhaps he got the last laugh, after all.

Want to see some real off-the-cage theatrics? You might want to tune into Saturday’s UFC 181 pay-per-view event in Las Vegas. Pettis (17-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC), who landed one of the greatest off-the-cage blows in MMA history (watch it below), returns from a lengthy injury layoff and puts his lightweight title on the line against challenger Gilbert Melendez (22-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) in the night’s co-headliner.
