A middleweight matchup has been added to this summer’s UFC 175 event as Uriah Hall (8-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) meets Thiago “Marreta” Santos (9-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC).
UFC officials today announced the new pairing.
Featuring a middleweight title fight between current champ Chris Weidman and challenger Lyoto Machida, UFC 175 is set for July 5 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The evening’s main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Hall returns to action after a much-needed victory over Chris Leben at UFC 168. The 29-year-old, who was favored to win “The Ultimate Fighter 17? but ultimately fell short against Kelvin Gastelum, had suffered back-to-back UFC defeats to Gastelum and John Howard.
Santos looks to build on the strength of a massive upset win over the heavily favored Ronny Markes at March’s UFC Fight Night 38 event in Brazil. Following a 47-second submission loss to Cezar Ferreira in his UFC debut, Santos bounced back with a 53-second TKO win over Markes.
