UFC 169 weigh-ins set for Friday; Jon Jones hosts Q&A session

Weigh-ins for this week’s UFC 169 event take place Friday at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

The same venue hosts the following night’s pay-per-view event, which features a pair of title fights in the main and co-main events. In the headlining spot, bantamweight champion Renan Barao puts his new undisputed title on the line for the first time since a run as the interim champ when he rematches Urijah Faber. And in the co-main event, Barao teammate Jose Aldo puts his featherweight strap up against top contender Ricardo Lamas.

Additionally, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones hosts a special Q&A session for UFC Fight Club members prior to the weigh-ins.

Jones is no stranger to Newark. He won the 205-pound title at Prudential Center in March 2011 at UFC 128. In April 2013, he defended the belt there against Chael Sonnen at UFC 159.

Doors to the festivities open to members of the UFC Fight Club, the promotion’s official fan club, at 1:30 p.m. ET local time. Jones hits the stage for the Q&A at 2 p.m. ET.

The public is also invited to the weigh-in ceremony. Doors open to the public at 3 p.m. ET, and the first fighter steps on the scale at 4 p.m. ET.
