Frankie Edgar may not have set out to retire BJ Penn, but that was the eventual outcome following their rubber match in The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale on Sunday night in Las Vegas.
Edgar dominated the bout, finishing Penn by TKO stoppage late in the third round.
Following the fight, Penn decided to hang up his gloves for good.
With the victory, Edgar collected the largest disclosed paycheck of the night, while Penn, not surprisingly, was a close second.
Sarah Moraes received $2,000 of Alexis Dufresne’s show money due to Dufresne’s failure to make weight for the fight.
