With the recent re-signing of Strikeforce featherweight women’s champion Cris “Cyborg” Santos, the promotion now goes on the hunt for the next viable contender.
A match-up now agreed to for November might help pave the way for that.
Julia Budd and Ronda Rousey have agreed to meet at an as of yet unannounced Strikeforce card for November, most likely a Challengers show.
Strikeforce officials announced the new bout on Wednesday.
Former Olympic bronze medalist Ronda Rousey will look to move to 4-0 when she returns to action in November. Rousey made her Strikeforce debut in August with a submission win over Sarah D’Alelio.
Opposing Rousey in November will be powerful striker Julia Budd.
Budd will be making her fourth appearance in Strikeforce where she currently holds a 2-1 record. In her most recent fight, Budd defeated fellow Muay Thai fighter Germaine De Randamie by unanimous decision.
