Road FC Kicks Off Busy Year with Road FC 1 Headlined by Riki Fukuda vs. Hee Seung Kim

Riki FukudaRiki Fukuda will be back in action for the first time since his UFC release when he headlines Road FC – Korea 1 at the Hilton Convention Centre in Seoul on Jan. 18. The Japanese middleweight will be taking on up-and-coming Korean star Hee Seung Kim in the main event.

Fukuda (19-7) was handed his UFC walking papers after failing a drug test in the wake of his decision loss to Brad Tavares at UFC on Fuel TV 8. He was promptly snapped up by Road FC and is set to make his promotional debut against Kim (6-1).

Road FC was founded in 2010 and has held 13 numbered shows to date and two smaller scale “Into League” events. Two of its champions, former bantamweight beltholder Kyung Ho Kang and current lightweight king Yui Chul Nam, have gone on to sign with the UFC.

In 2014, Road FC plans to hold 12 monthly “Road FC – Korea” events, which will all take place at the Hilton Convention Centre in Seoul, and approximately four numbered shows to be held at venues all over the country.

The second Road FC – Korea event is scheduled for March 1 with further dates to be announced soon. The action will be broadcast live by Super Action in Korea and available to view internationally via an online PPV.
