MMAjunkie's best UFC photos from September-October 2017: Sub of the Year, an animated Conor McGregor

2017 was another busy year for the UFC with 39 total events around the globe. MMAjunkie and USA TODAY Sports had a photographer at each of those shows, which featured 457 different fights.

Some of the sport’s most epic and iconic moments are captured through a lens. With another year of octagon action complete, it’s time to look back the best photos from the past 12 months.

The organization put on a total of seven events between September and October, it’s busiest two-month stretch up until that point. Those fight cards included UFC Fight Night 115 in Rotterdam, Netherlands; UFC 215 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; UFC Fight Night 116 in Pittsburgh; UFC Fight Night 117 in Saitama, Japan; UFC 216 in Las Vegas; UFC Fight Night 118 in Gdansk, Poland; and, finally, UFC Fight Night 119 in Sao Paulo.

USA TODAY Sports Images photographers Per Haljestam, Perry Nelson, Don Wright, Susumu Nagao, Joshua Dahl and Jason Silva were on assignment for those events and captured the best moments in and out of the cage.
