Keoni Koch Injured, Jeff Curran Steps into RFA 9 Main Event Title Fight

Jeff CurranResurrection Fighting Alliance officials on Friday announced that Keoni Koch is out of the RFA 9 main event title fight with an injury. Jeff Curran has already agreed to step in and take his place against Pedro Munhoz.

Keoni, the older brother of UFC fighter Erik Koch, re-injured his hand, according to RFA officials.

Curran now steps into the RFA 9 main event to battle Munhoz for the vacant RFA bantamweight championship.

Curan (34-15-1) had been scheduled to fight Sergio Pettis at RFA 8 for the promotion’s flyweight title, but withdrew for personal reasons. He’ll now get the opportunity to challenge for an RFA belt, albeit in the 135-pound division.

RFA 9: Munhoz vs. Curran takes place on Aug. 16. It marks the promotion’s first foray into the Los Angeles market. RFA 9 also airs live on AXS TV.
