Justin Salas replaces injured Quinn Mulhern at UFC Fight Night 32

justin-salas-3.jpgAn undisclosed injury has forced Quinn Mulhern (18-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) out of UFC Fight Night 32, and Justin Salas (11-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has stepped in as a replacement.

He now meets fellow lightweight Thiago Tavares (17-5-1 MMA, 7-5-1 UFC) at the November event, UFC officials today announced.
Featuring a light-heavyweight rematch between Vitor Belfort and Dan Henderson, UFC Fight Night 32 takes place Nov. 9 at Goiania Arena in Goiania, Goias, Brazil. The bulk of the card airs on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on Facebook.

Salas vs. Tavares is likely to be part of the televised card.

Salas recently rebounded from a TKO loss to Tim Means with a split-decision victory over Aaron Riley at UFC on FOX 8. (Riley subsequently announced his retirement). The Colorado-based Grudge Training Center fighter is now 7-1 in his past eight bouts.

Tavares, a three-time “Fight of the Night” bonus winner who competes in his home country for the fourth consecutive time, was on a 3-1 run before a recent knockout loss to fast-rising contender Khabib Nurmagomedov in January. Tavares subsequently failed a drug test due to an anabolic steroid and received a nine-month suspension.
