Jeremy Stephens‘ long trip to Minnesota might finally be coming to an end, but not before a court hearing on Tuesday.
The UFC lightweight was arrested last Friday prior to his fight against Yves Edwards at UFC on FX 5, and despite grand efforts from UFC President Dana White to secure his release, the fighter’s bail was not set until Tuesday.
The bail amount for Stephens’ release was set at $100,000 according to an online database for the Hennepin County detention center.
The Iowa native will also appear before a judge in Minnesota on Tuesday at 1:30pm CT to face extradition to his home state for an alleged assault that took place in 2011.
The felony assault charges carry a possible jail sentence and fines depending on the grade of the charge when it’s handed down.
Stephens’ management released a statement regarding the arrest on Monday, and the fighter and his representatives plan on fighting the charges handed down last week.
MMAWeekly.com will have more information on Stephens’ arrest and possible release when it becomes available.
