He's no 'FBI agent,' but Michael Bisping curious about Vitor Belfort's drug test

Michael Bisping is fired up about his upcoming bout with Tim Kennedy. He’s fired up about his recovery from an eye injury. And he’s definitely fired up about fellow middleweight contender Vitor Belfort.

MMAjunkie recently caught up with the vet to discuss his upcoming bout at the TUF Nations Finale. Bisping (24-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) and Kennedy (17-4 MMA, 2-0 UFC) meet April 16 in a FOX Sports 1-televised main event at Colisee Pepsi in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

It’ll be Bisping’s first bout in nearly a year due to an eye injury, which he discusses in detail above.

The title hopeful also explains why he should get a shot at the belt if victorious – and why he’s more deserving than Belfort. Belfort, of course, was lined up to fight champ Chris Weidman at UFC 173, but following a recent ban on testosterone-replacement therapy, the Brazilian was replaced by Lyoto Machida. However, Bisping finds it peculiar that Belfort hasn’t released the results of a recent pre-fight drug test (which Belfort’s lawyer called “not relevant”), which was conducted while Belfort was on TRT.

“I am not an FBI agent, but the guy did a drug test in Nevada recently, and all of the sudden, he’s not fighting for the title anymore,” Bisping said. “Hmm. Put the pieces together.”
