Former Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy has opened as a betting favorite ahead of his mixed martial arts professional debut.

According to OddsShark, Hardy is a 1-3 favorite against Brandon Sayles, who's a 47-20 underdog.

ESPN.com's Brett Okamoto reported Saturday that Hardy would fight Sayles as part of the UFC Fight Pass-exclusive show Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. The UFC will monitor Hardy's progress and potentially offer him a contract based on his performance.

Hardy is undefeated in three amateur fights, with his most recent victory coming against Ryan Chester in February. His three wins have all come via technical knockout.
