Before he was a UFC middleweight contender, Brian Stann proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marines.

On Tuesday night, Fuel TV ran a special segment during the UFC Insider show that featured Stann telling the story about how he received the Silver Star for valor in combat.

One of the most harrowing tales ever told, Stann recounts the 2005 mission in Iraq in this video from the show.
