Anthony Perosh takes on Ryan Bader at December's UFC Fight Night 33 in Australia

Australia has another one of its own on the UFC’s return to the country in December.

Anthony Perosh (14-7 MMA, 4-4 UFC) will take on Ryan Bader (15-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC), the Season 8 winner of “The Ultimate Fighter,” in a light heavyweight bout at UFC Fight Night 33 in Brisbane. UFC officials announced the new fight overnight.

UFC Fight Night 33 takes place Dec. 7 in the Queensland capital at Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Broadcast plans haven’t been announced, but the event is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on Facebook. Due to the time difference, the event takes place Saturday, Dec. 7, in Australia, but Friday, Dec. 6, in the U.S.

Perosh has spent just 21 seconds in the octagon in the past 14 months. In July 2012, he was knocked out by Ryan Jimmo just seven seconds into their fight at UFC 149 in Calgary. After more than a year on the sidelines, he returned at UFC 163 in August and knocked out Vinny Magalhaes in just 14 seconds in Magalhaes’ home country of Brazil. The win earned him “Knockout of the Night” honors and got him back in the win column. The loss to Jimmo had snapped a three-fight winning streak for “The Hippo” that included rear-naked choke submissions of Tom Blackledge and Cyrilled Diabate and a first-round TKO of Nick Penner.

Bader, meanwhile, will be looking to get back in the win column after a first-round TKO loss to Glover Teixeira earlier this month at UFC Fight Night 28 in Brazil. In that fight, Bader knocked the Brazilian off his feet and appeared to have him in trouble against the fence, only to have Teixeira get a pair of punches through on his way to a TKO win. Bader had been on a streak of three wins in four fights with stoppages of Vladimir Matyushenko for “Submission of the Night” in January and a 67-second knockout of Jason Brilz, plus a dominant win over Quinton Jackson. In between, he was knocked out by former champ Lyoto Machida in August 2012.

With the addition, the latest UFC Fight Night 33 card now includes:

• Mark Hunt vs. Antonio Silva
• Mauricio Rua vs. James Te Huna
• Ryan Bader vs. Anthony Perosh
• Pat Barry vs. Soa Palelei
• Dylan Andrews vs. Clint Hester
