World Series of Fighting Adds Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson, David Branch, Waylon Lowe to Nov. 3 Debut

The dance card for the World Series of Fighting’s Nov. 3 debut is now complete.

The 11-fight bill takes place at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and will see UFC veterans Anthony Johnson, David Branch and Waylon Lowe lock horns with D.J. Linderman, Dustin Jacoby and Fabio Mello, respectively. The evening’s four-fight main card airs live on NBC Sports Network, while the prelims will be streamed live on Sherdog.com.

A previously announced heavyweight headliner between ex-UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and IFL alum Devin Cole will top the bill, while Johnson’s light heavyweight clash with Linderman will serve as the evening’s co-main event. Former World Extreme Cagefighting bantamweight king Miguel Torres will also compete on the evening’s main card, taking on Marlon Moraes. Rounding out the the NBC Sports broadcast is a welterweight attraction pitting Gregor Gracie against Tyson Steele.

The event’s undercard will be highlighted by the mixed martial arts debut of accomplished kickboxer Tyrone Spong, as the K-1 veteran squares off with Travis Bartlett. Meanwhile, Ronys Torres takes on Brian Cobb at lightweight, while notables Gerald Harris and Josh Burkman collide at 170 pounds. Earlier in the evening, UFC middleweight veterans Branch and Jacoby will clash, as will welterweights Steve Carl and Ramico Blackmon.

As expected, onetime Strikeforce lightweight competitor Gesias Cavalcante will also compete on the undercard, but “JZ” has undergone a change in opponent. Originally slated to face onetime UFC talent John Gunderson, Cavalcante will now meet another Octagon alumnus in T.J. O'Brien.
