Professional MMA fighter, Danielle West, shared her disappointment over her TKO loss to Russian fighter, Milana Dudieva, "Got tagged and the ref stopped the match. I still haven't seen the footage, but many consider the stoppage controversial. I would hate for an opponent to moan or detract from my win—especially as it was a ref decision. I would have liked to continue the match, but have to accept the referee decision. Milana caught me with a good shot and though I tried to scramble for a takedown, I obviously didn't react quickly enough for the ref. Not great, but it is an unfortunate part of the sport. My respect and congratulations to Milana. Deepest thanks and apologies to my team, fans and friends."

PROFC 40: Milana Dudieva vs Danielle West video
I caught up with Danielle West, who often joins me to share her fight predictions for my "Picks From Fight Chicks" posts for UFC events to find out how she was feeling about the early ref stoppage at 25 seconds of the first round in her fight with Dudieva.
Danielle: "I am, as always, very grateful for the opportunity to compete and especially against a highly ranked and talented fighter such as Milana. I do wish that we had more of a fight, as I was very keen to see how I would perform against her. Unfortunately, I can not control the referee's decision and can only congratulate my opponent. I wish I had more of an opportunity to continue, but can not change the past, so I will simply have to focus on the future and do what I can to improve myself as a fighter. I would like to rematch Milana, but first need to find a fight show to agree to have the rematch."
Cheryl: "It's so hard to know what the ref saw. She caught you with a hook and a couple of short rights while you were grabbing her leg for a single. You handled yourself with grace. It's so different watching someone I know fight. I saw you try to catch her kick with your leg (Danielle's signature move) —that would have been sweet. Watch and learn and come back stronger."
Danielle: "I am trying to see if I can get a rematch on neutral territory, ideally on the next next Super Fight League India show. I am trying to get the match maker on board, but they are focused on the show this weekend. Hopefully, if I can convince SFL or Invicta to host the rematch, Milana's team will accept."
Either of those two promotions would be an excellent venue for a rematch. Invicta will have their first show—with an all female fight card—on April 28 in Kansas City. The fights will be livestreamed, following in the footsteps of India's new fight promotion, Super Fight League (SFL) who have a show scheduled for Saturday, April 7th, starting at 9:15 am on the east coast and streaming live on Youtube.
