WSOF’s next event, WSOF 10, will again have a championship doubleheader on the NBC Sports Network-televised main card.
Following Saturday’s WSOF 9 event in Las Vegas, officials confirmed WSOF 10 takes place June 21 at the Event Center at San Jose State University. It’ll be the organization’s second event in California.
Headlining the card is a featherweight title fight between reigning champion Georgi Karakhanyan (23-3-1) and Rick Glenn (14-2).
Additionally, David Branch (13-3) and Jesse Taylor (27-9) fight for the inaugural WSOF middleweight belt.
After making his promotional debut with a submission victory over Waylon Lowe, Karakhanyan won the title in December with a third-round tap-out of Lance Palmer at WSOF 7. The 28-year-old Armenian, who’s previously fought for Bellator MMA and DREAM, now has nine straight wins.
He meets Glenn, a 24-year-old Iowan on a roll of his own. The fighter, who’s a veteran of the Midwest circuit, has won seven straight fights, and he’s 11-0-1 in his past 12 bouts. In his two WSOF appearances, he’s picked up a knockout win over Alexandre Pimentel and a decision victory over Artur Rofi.
Branch, meanwhile, is 5-1 since a four-fight stint with the UFC. The 32-year-old New Yorker has really hit his stride with WSOF, where he’s earned decision victories over big-show vets Dustin Jacoby, Paulo Filho and Danillo Villefort.
He takes on fellow UFC vet Taylor, a globetrotter who’s fought for organizations all over the planet. Currently, the 30-year-old Team Quest fighter is riding a seven-fight winning streak, which included a WSOF-debut win over Elvis Mutapcic in December.
