Video: Watch Conor McGregor's walk from the octagon after UFC 189 title win

LAS VEGAS – Conor McGregor did what he said he was going to do Saturday night, even if there were some bumps in the road to get there.

McGregor (18-2 MMA, 6-0 UFC) stopped Chad Mendes (17-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) with three seconds left in the second round to win the interim featherweight title in the UFC 189 main event. Mendes appeared to have McGregor in some trouble thanks to four takedowns. But McGregor persevered through them and went back to work in the standup department.

UFC 189 took place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. The card set an American MMA gate record with $7.2 million.
