Video: UFC 171's Diego Sanchez says Myles Jury is going to 'run into reality'

Diego Sanchez has many great things to say about Myles Jury, his opponent at Saturday’s UFC 171 event, but the veteran believes the young prospect is in for a reality check.

Sanchez (24-6 MMA, 13-6 UFC) and Jury (13-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) meet in a pay-per-view main-card fight at Dallas’ American Airlines Center. Their bout is a fashionable pick for “Fight of the Night” honors, and many see Sanchez as a possible stepping stone for the undefeated Jury.

Sanchez, though, believes he’ll rise to the occasion and end his opponent’s unbeaten run.

“I remember what it’s like, when I was 19-0, going on that awesome streak, feeling invincible,” he recently told MMAjunkie. “But it’s like you eventually run into reality. Even the best guys in the sport have losses on their record, and Myles Jury, I just feel like he’s coming up into that reality check with me.”

Check out the full conversation, which includes Sanchez’s title aspirations and his thoughts on upcoming title challenger/recent opponent Gilbert Melendez, above.
