Video: Tito Ortiz on 'joke' and 'embarrassment' of Bonnar fight at Bellator 131

Tito Ortiz is no stranger to grudge matches. His trilogy with Ken Shamrock is more legendary for its pre-fight talk than it is its competitiveness.

But next week in his second fight for Bellator, the UFC Hall of Famer is treading on some new ground, he says.

Ortiz (17-11-1 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) fights fellow UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar (15-8 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) in the main event of Bellator 131. It’s a fight that got nasty as soon as Bonnar called him out at Bellator 123 in September – and talked about Ortiz’s family and brought former training partners into the mix.

So this time, unlike grudges of the past for Ortiz, he says he’s never been this angry and hateful toward an opponent.

“I take it very personally, and I can’t just let it slide by,” Ortiz told MMAjunkie. “This guy wants to come out of retirement and fight me? He got his wish. He’s a fake. He’s a phony. The guy’s a joke, and he’s an embarrassment to the sport.”

See what else Ortiz had to say about “The American Psycho” in the video above ahead of their Bellator 131 headliner, which takes place Nov. 15 at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. The main card airs on Spike TV.

Fans can purchase tickets now at AXS.com. Ticket prices range from $30 to $250 for the event.
