Video: This is why UFC 183's Joe Lauzon didn't go kite-surfing

Want some more proof that veteran lightweight Joe Lauzon is one of the sharper minds on the UFC roster?

Recently booked for an early-2015 fight, Lauzon today tweeted that he skipped a kite-surfing trip with his friends. Turns out it was a pretty smart move.

As Lauzon wrote (via Twitter):

According to the video description, “Jake” thankfully didn’t break any bones and will undergo an MRI later this week.

Lauzon (24-9 MMA, 11-6 UFC), a fan favorite who owns the record (13) for most UFC fight-night bonuses, was recently booked to fight Al Iaquinta (10-3-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) at UFC 183, which takes place Jan. 31 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Lauzon goes for his third straight win at the pay-per-view event.
