Video: Ronda Rousey's outsider relationship with Brazil fans different than most

RIO DE JANEIRO – Things are different for UFC superstar Ronda Rousey on many levels.

Included among them appears to be the way she’s treated by the fans in Brazil. Those fans typically are pretty harsh to non-Brazilians. But for Rousey, the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, it doesn’t seem so bad.

Check out how they responded to her today in Rio de Janeiro after it was announced she’d be headlining UFC 190 in August against Brazil home favorite Bethe Correia – even though she told those same fans at the news conference announcing the event that Correia’s tough-talking strategy to get the title fight after beating two of Rousey’s teammates would work against her.

“I understand Bethe’s tactics, and I understand why she went about things the way that she did, but just because I understand it doesn’t mean it’s OK,” Rousey said. “The fact is, in order to get a title shot as quickly as possible, she disrespected my friends, which I consider my family. And if you f-ck with my family, you are f-cked.”
