In just a few weeks, Tyron Woodley looks for his first title defense. Check out the performance that first earned him the UFC welterweight bout.
Back in July at UFC 201, Woodley (16-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) returned from an 18-month layoff and took on then-titleholder Robbie Lawler (27-11 MMA, 12-5 UFC).
Lawler was a small favorite, but Woodley ended the fight in quick and rather decisive fashion. Check out the upset win above.
And catch Woodley, who’s now No. 1 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA welterweight rankings, back in action on Nov. 12 at UFC 205, which airs on pay-per-view from Madison Square Garden in New York City. Woodley takes on surging contender Stephen Thompson (13-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC), who’s ranked No. 2.
