Urijah Faber on Conor McGregor confrontation: 'Guy looked like a crackhead'

In the latest installment of “UFC 189 Embedded,” viewers see a backstage confrontation between Conor McGregor and his UFC 189 opponent’s teammate, Uriah Faber. Faber recently posted some additional footage.

As captured in “UFC 189 Embedded” episode No. 9, McGregor and Faber had a brief clash backstage before Friday’s UFC 189 weigh-ins at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, which also hosts tonight’s pay-per-view event.

And while McGregor (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) is battling Chad Mendes (17-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) in tonight’s interim featherweight title fight, a playful encounter with Faber obviously escalated fairly quickly.

In addition to the “Embedded” clip, Faber posted another one with better sound (via Twitter and Instagram):

Faber also discussed the skirmish during a Periscope live stream (watch it above).

“What happened was, I was in the bathroom,” said Faber, a UFC vet who’s in town to corner Mendes. “Somebody was trying to get in, so I opened the bathroom up. It was a single stall, and McGregor was standing there. We were face to face. Then you saw the video. It was super random. We were in a back hallway, and there just happened to be a camera crew there.

“I’m not trying to pick on a guy when he’s cutting weight, but the guy looked like a crackhead, man. Nuts.”

A Twitter follower then asked Faber about McGregor’s strength while they were in the clinch.

“He felt like a junior-high girl when I grabbed him, I’ll be honest,” he said.
