Demetrious Johnson vs. John Moraga

Round 1: Moraga comes out aggressive.  He’s moving forward while Johnson moves on the outside.  Moraga lands a kick to the body.  Johnson pawing with his jab.  He delivers a kick to the body.  Moraga steps in with a right hand.  Johnson lands a counter right.  Moraga delivers an outside leg kick.  Johnson switches stances.  They clinch.  Moraga presses Johnson against the cage.  Johnson turns him.  He drops down and secures a takedown.  Moraga hanging onto Johnson’s head.  Johnson pops is head out and works in side control.  He lands short elbows.  Moraga gets back to half guard…  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Johnson.

Round 2: Moraga comes out firing with a punch, but Johnson quickly scores the double-leg takedown and quickly works from Moraga’s full guard into side control, landing some jackhammer right hands, and then mixing in some knees to the body. Moraga scrambles, looking for a submission, but Johnson quickly regains control from the side. Moraga tries to get up, but Johnson keeps his back and gut wrenches him back to the canvas, and keeps back control. Moraga regains his feet and this time presses Johnson to the fence. They separate and move to the center of the Octagon. Moraga tries to get his jab going, but Johnson shoots and takes him to the mat once again, landing in side control. Round 3: Johnson moving in and out.  He lands an outside leg kick.  Johnson changes levels and secures a double leg takedown.  Johnson stands, pushes Moraga’s legs to the side and lands a right hand.  He works in side control.  Moraga rolls and Johnson takes his back.  He loses the position and Moraga is back on his feet.  He steps in with a knee to the body and they clinch.  Moraga delivers a knee to the body.  Moraga works for a takedown but Johnson turns him on the way down and gains top position.  Johnson isolates an arm.  Johnson steps over.  He loses it and Moraga gains top position.  Johnson stands and they’re tied up against the cage.  Moraga lands a knee to the body.  Moraga secures a takedown.  Johnson scrambles to his feet and they’re back at distance.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Johnson.

Round 4: The championship rounds begin.  Johnson delivers a kick to the body to start the round.  Moraga returns fire with a kick and Johnson takes him down.  Johnson works in Moraga’s half guard.  Johnson spins to Moraga’s back.  He lets Moraga back up and lands a kick to the body.  Johnson lands a kick to the body.  Johnson switches stances.  They clinch and Johnson lands a knee to the body.  He drops down and takes Moraga to the canvas.  Moraga gets to his feet and they exchange knees to the body in the clinch.  Moraga works for takedown.  Johnson stuffs it and lands a knee to the body.  Moraga powers his way to his feet and they separate.  Moraga lands a hard right hand.  He rushes forward and Johnson changes levels and takes him down.  Johnson is bleeding.  The round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Moraga.

Round 5: Moraga moving forward.  He leaps in with an uppercut but Johnson moves away.  Johnson lands an outside leg kick.  Johnson is bleeding from the nose. Moraga moves forward and Johnson drops down and puts him on his back.  Moraga works his way back to his feet but gets taken down again.  Johnson delivers knees to Moraga’s shoulders.  Moraga gets back to his feet again.  Johnson takes him down again.  Johnson lands knees to the body from side control.  Two minutes remain in the round.  Johnson isolates an arm.  He steps over and spins into an arm bar.  He extends the arm and Moraga is forced to tap out.
