UFC on Fox 5 Pulls 3.41 Million Viewers in Initial Ratings; Wins Key Demographic for the Night

The initial ratings numbers are in for the UFC on Fox 5 card held Saturday night in Seattle, and so far mixed martial arts captured the night in the key 18-49 demographic.

According to a report from TVBytheNumbers.com, UFC on Fox 5 averaged 3.41 million viewers for the 2+ hour broadcast on Saturday night.

UFC on Fox 5 won the night by capturing the highest share in the coveted 18-49 demographic. CBS actually ended the night with more total viewers, but the UFC on Fox 5 card won the 18-49 demographic, which in terms of ratings means more for advertisers.

UFC on Fox 5 featured a lightweight title bout pitting Benson Henderson against Nate Diaz, as well as former two-weight class champion B.J. Penn in what could be his final performance inside the Octagon.

Now the numbers for UFC on Fox 5 are only preliminary and the final numbers won’t be released by Nielsen until Tuesday.

Even with additional viewers likely to be added by the time Tuesday’s numbers come out, UFC on Fox 5 already bests the ratings for the last two UFC on Fox cards.

UFC on Fox 3 drew an average of 2.25 million viewers, while UFC on Fox 4 pulled in 2.44 million viewers.

Now the UFC has yet to top the numbers from the first two efforts on Fox, but the numbers from Saturday night’s broadcast are definitely encouraging, especially winning the 18-49 demographic by a wide margin over all other telecasts.
