UFC on FX 5 Fighter Bonuses: Michael Johnson Takes Back His Fight and Knockout of the Night

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn., on Friday night for UFC on FX 5: Browne vs. Bigfoot, handing out $40,000 fighter bonuses to the post-fight award winners.

The Knockout of the Night bonus couldn’t have been any clearer. After nearly getting finished in the first round, The Ultimate Fighter Season 12 runner-up Michael Johnson stormed out of the gate in round two, knocking Danny Castillo unconscious.  Johnson notched his third consecutive victory and pocketed an extra $40,000 for his performance.

Justin Edwards also made it a fairly easy pick for Submission of the Night. As Josh Neer tried for a takedown early in their fight, Edwards locked on an arm-in guillotine choke, quickly locked it up, and put Neer to sleep.

Diego Nunes, finding a new fire in his belly, and Bart Palaszewski fought tooth and nail in the second preliminary bout of the night. They lit a fire under the Minneapolis crowd and were rewarded by UFC officials with the Fight of the Night. Palaszewski landed on the losing end of the decision, but both took home a bonus check.
