UFC on FX 5: Browne vs. Bigfoot Weigh-in Results

UFC on FX 5: Browne vs. Bigfoot takes place on Friday night, leading in to the next episode of The Ultimate Fighter on FX, but first, the UFC on FX 5 competitors had to step on the scale in Minneapolis, Minn., and weigh in to make their bouts official.

The main event features Travis Browne vs. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in a pivotal heavyweight contest, while Jake Ellenberger welcomes Jay Hieron back to the Octagon in the night’s co-main event.

Being heavyweights, neither Browne nor Silva had trouble making weight, although Silva did push right up against the ceiling of the division at 266 pounds.

There was a lightweight bout slated for the Fuel TV prelims between Dennis Hallman and Thiago Tavares, but the bout was pulled at the last minute. Hallman was evidently well over the limit for their 155-pound bout and Tavares declined the fight, according to MMAWeekly.com sources.

The UFC later confirmed that Hallman was seven pounds overweight for the bout. Officials said it was the second time in a row that Hallman has missed weight and the second time attempting lightweight.

Bart Palaszewski, slated to face Diego Nunes on the Fuel TV prelims, was one pound over the 146-pound limit for his featherweight bout. He was given one hour to make weight.

UPDATE: After a second weigh-in, Bart Palaszewski was able to make 146lbs and his fight against Diego Nunes is now official.
