Known more for his submission prowess than his knockout power, Mike Pyle put the UFC welterweight division on notice at UFC on FX 3 on Friday night with a first-round knockout of Josh Neer.
“While he was trying to hurt me real bad, I could see openings,” Pyle said in his UFC post-fight interview. “Then I had enough and said, okay, I’m gonna try it now; and it worked.”
It worked better than almost anyone would have anticipated out of the Xtreme Couture fighter, but he’s evidently refined an element of his game that gives his opponent’s a new element to be on the lookout for.
