UFC welterweight Rory MacDonald knew he wanted to be a mixed martial artist the first time he saw footage of an early UFC event.
He quickly began training at the age of 14 and a decade later is on the cusp of a UFC title shot.
“I just fell in love. I started training. It was amazing,” MacDonald told UFC.com. “I was addicted. I was completely consumed in it. It was all I did like 24 hours a day was watch videos, train and try to learn as much as I could.
“I pretty much knew instantly that this was going to be what I did with my life,” he added.
MacDonald faces Jake Ellenberger on the UFC on Fox 8 fight card on July 27. Hear what he has to say about sacrifices, smack talk and the roar of the crowd.
