As bad as Steve Bosse’s UFC debut was this past June, the way he picked up his first win in the promotion on Saturday seemed well-deserved.
Bosse (11-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) was more than a 2-1 underdog against James Te Huna (16-9 MMA, 5-5 UFC) on Saturday, which probably made sense given he lost to Thiago Santos in 29 seconds in his debut with the promotion at UFC Fight Night 70.
But those odds meant nothing when Te Huna walked into a perfectly placed right hand from the former pro hockey player for a 52-second one-punch knockout that had Bosse already hoping for a $50,000 bonus later tonight.
The light heavyweights fought on the main card of UFC Fight Night 85, which took place at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The card aired on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
