'UFC Fight Night 80 Embedded,' No. 2: A 'young Thundercat,' the joys of coffee

For the first time, the UFC’s online “Embedded” series is going behind the scenes of a card not airing on pay-per-view with next week’s UFC Fight Night 80.

The online series previews the card, which takes place Thursday at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass.

In the main event, highly touted strawweight prospect Paige VanZant (6-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) takes on “TUF” veteran Rose Namajunas (3-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC). Also on the card, up-and-coming lightweight prospect Sage Northcutt (6-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC), fresh off a stunning first-round TKO in his UFC debut as a 19-year-old, takes on Cody Pfister (12-4-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC).

The youth of VanZant and Northcutt, along with the accolades being thrown their way early in their careers, have helped dub UFC Fight Night 80 the “Paige and Sage” card. But Namajunas and Pfister, as the series continues, certainly believe they’re just as prepared for victory.

In the second episode, go inside the training camps of all four fighters. It appears Northcutt has time for some leisure, not to mention some media time, while Pfister is all business. Meanwhile, it’s chiropractic session and coffee for VanZant, while Namajunas prefers animals to humans.
