GOIANIA, Brazil – After a violent second-round TKO of Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 67, it may be safe to say Carlos Condit is back.
Condit (30-8 MMA, 7-4 UFC) showed his trademark violent striking flurries in his first fight since a traumatic knee injury that required reparative surgery. Round 1 saw pretty even action, but Condit appeared to have used the period to measure length and timing.
In Round 2, Condit was a whirlwind of punches, elbows and knees, bloodying the face of Alves (21-10 MMA, 13-7 UFC) and coming close to getting the stoppage multiple times.
The doctor had to step in between rounds and call an end to the fight with Alves’ nose appearing to be badly broken.
Check out the video highlights of the fight, which aired on FOX Sports 1 from Goiania Arena in Goiania, Goias, Brazil.
